Under constructionWe are still building the catalogue. Prices are not being tracked yet, and many sections are still being written — what is here is real, there is just not much of it.

Privacy

geekhead.shop sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and asks you for nothing. This page says what little does get recorded, and what happens when you click a link to a shop.

Who runs this site

geekhead.shop is operated by Chimera Media & IT Ltd. For any question about this policy or about data held about you, write to hello@geekhead.shop.

What this site does not do

There is no analytics service, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no third-party script on any page. This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no account to create, no newsletter, and no form that collects anything — so there is no name, email address or payment detail for us to hold, because we never receive one.

There is no cookie banner for the same reason. A banner asking consent for tracking that does not exist would be theatre.

What is stored on your device

The site installs a service worker — the standard browser feature that lets a page still work when you go offline. It keeps a copy of pages and images you have already visited in your browser's cache, and holds responses from our own API for at most an hour. It is a cache, not a record: it never leaves your device, we cannot read it, and it contains no identifier for you. Clearing site data for geekhead.shop in your browser removes it.

Nothing else is written to your browser — no cookie, and nothing in local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.

What is recorded

Two things, both of them ordinary:

  • Web server logs. Like nearly every site, the server records each page request: the IP address it came from, the time, the page, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. These are kept for roughly 14 days and then deleted by log rotation. They are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and they are not combined with anything else or shared.
  • Outbound click counts. When you follow a link to a shop, we record which link on which page was clicked, the country it was clicked from, whether the device was a phone, tablet or desktop, and the time. No IP address and no identifier for you is stored with it. We keep it to know which write-ups are useful; it cannot be traced back to a person, including by us.

When you click through to a shop

Most outbound product links are affiliate links, which is how the site is paid for — the About page explains that in full. Clicking one sends you to the retailer through an affiliate network. That network and that retailer will usually set their own cookies in order to credit the sale, and from that moment their privacy policy governs, not this one. We receive a commission report, never your order or your identity.

If you would rather not be counted, visiting the shop directly instead of through our link has exactly the same price for you.

Your rights

Where the GDPR or a comparable law applies to you, you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or erased, and to complain to your data protection authority. In practice the only personal data here is the IP address in a server log, which we cannot connect to a name — so a request will usually be answered by explaining that, and by deleting the relevant log lines if they are still within the 14-day window. Write to hello@geekhead.shop.

Children

This site is written for adults buying hobby merchandise and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If the site starts doing something this page does not describe — analytics, an email list, an account — this page is updated in the same change, not afterwards. Last updated 17 September 2026.
